Episode 71 – Triumph Kombat 4, Fan Questions, and Ancestry DNA

In this episode of The Striking Corner, Eric and Vinny are together once again IN THE SAME STUDIO as Eric traveled to NYC this past weekend to provide ringside commentary for the Triumph Kombat 4 event which was held at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

The guys discuss the event and Vinny’s student Abel Cardenas’ fight, they also answer fan questions about how to grow Muay Thai in America without going the WWE route, gym hopping, “not leaving it to the judges” (uggh), and Eric receives his results from Ancestry DNA.

The Striking Corner Ep. 30 – Ashley Nichols

In this episode of The Striking Corner we speak with Ashley “AK-47” Nichols. Professional Canadian Muay Thai Fighter and pride of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Ashley will be facing off with Tiffany Van Soest at Lion Fight 27 on Friday, January 29th for the vacant Super Bantamweight Lion Fight title. We speak with Ashley about her journey in Muay Thai, her accomplishments in Muay Thai, K1, BJJ, and other disciplines, as well as what we can expect to see when she stands face to face with the always explosive Tiffany Van Soest.

In addition Ashley discusses her desire to represent not only Canadian and Women’s Muay Thai but to be an example for the First Nations people, the aboriginal people of Canada. Ashley is without a doubt a disciplined, skillful, and extremely driven women, and it was a pleasure talking to her and learning more about her story. We hope you enjoy her story as much as we did.

The Striking Corner is back! It’s been over 4 months since we had our last episode because of some circumstances beyond our control. He talks about his career as a fighter, the concept of “Physical Culture”, the growth of Muay Thai on the East Coast, the support of the Muay Thai community after his gym was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and so much more!

Chris is an inspirational guy with a true passion for Muay Thai and Martial Arts as a whole. He also offers some advice for those beginning their Muay Thai careers and looking to fight. Check it out!
